Stop Big-Oil-and-Gas Business from exploiting our World Heritage marine environments, including at Ningaloo and Shark Bay in Western Australia.
The annual “Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage Release” is a key part of the Australian Government’s strategy to encourage petroleum exploration in Australia’s offshore waters. This year’s release targets marine areas at Ningaloo, Shark Bay, the Abrolhos Islands and the Kimberley in Western Australia. Mining activities would seriously harm these unique and biodiverse areas. Stand with us and others like the Wilderness Society to add your voice to say no to any mining activities in World Heritage marine environments.
Your voice counts and will demonstrate community opposition to the release of unique marine areas for mining. Your support is urgently needed as the deadline for comment on the Government’s draft map is 29 June 2020.
